Happy Holidays everyone!  This month is going to go fast!  I pray you will keep JESUS AS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!!  I am working to get a very special Christmas show recorded and available Christmas week.  It will be a little different in that I wouldn’t play old recordings but feature brand new CDs from classic Jesus music artists PHIL KEAGGY, WELCOME INN, BOB BENNETT, CHRISTMASTIDE and finally songs from MICHELE PILLAR’S, I HEAR ANGELS CALLING.  You really should get these CD’s for this Christmas season and you can find links to their webstores by clicking my LINK button.

On Episode #127, you can take a walk down memory lane as we remember the contribution that the newly formed Sparrow Records made to early Jesus music.  Owner/Producer Billy Ray Hearn was willing to take the risk with many young artists that were unknown in Christian music and they became a house-hold name.  Sparrow Records was a family and held a standard for relationship in business and advancing the Kingdom through music.

You’ll hear early Jesus music from Scott Wesley Brown, Margaret Becker, John Michael Talbot and Terry Talbot, Barry McGuire, 2d Chapter of Acts and of course the late Keith Green.

On this episode we’ll be looking at a variety of topics.  Let me ask you a question.  Have you ever felt lonely or rejected?  If we were honest with ourselves we can all say that we’ve had these feelings at one time or another in our lives.  Some people have an ongoing situation with this state of mind.

Here’s the GOOD NEWS!!  There is One who loves us unconditionally and will never leave us nor forsake us.  Someone who can heal us from the pain of rejection…because He understands it better than anyone.  Of course I’m talking about Jesus Christ and we’ll hear the songs of His healing from Jesus music pioneers Bob Bennett, Dion DiMucci and Amy Grant as well as songs of praise for the healing from Matthews, Taylor and Johnson, Scott Wesley Brown and Twila Paris.

On this edition of FULL CIRCLE we’re going to take a look at many of the “LIVE IN CONCERT” albums that came out during the 1970’s. We call the music of that era…JESUS MUSIC.  It was a time of pure evangelism with a no-frills take on the way the Jesus musicians of that era presented the gospel to a larger audience other than their home church or local coffee house. What they lacked in flair and pizzazz, they made up for in being real and tearing down the wall between audience and performer.

We’ll be hearing from the likes of Barry McGuire, Love Song, and The 2nd Chapter of Acts, Love Song and Andrae Crouch to name a few. The music of that time wasn’t all acoustic or country rock as you’ll soon be able to tell on Episode #124.  Blog me or let me know if you like “Live In Concert” shows like this one.
