Boy what an amazing year 1979 turned out to be! Bob Dylan’s SLOW TRAIN COMING was released as we moved forward from early Jesus music to what became today’s CCM and on this episode, we’ll track those changes. You’ll hear from early Petra, Oden Fong, David and the Giants and DeGarmo and Key, as well as BJ Thomas and Amy Grant.
There were so many great songs released in 1979 that I already know that there has to be a Part Two, next time. With a little help from my friends who pray for and financially underwrite this ministry, I’ll begin to start working on that now. If you want to help, there’s a DONATE button at the top of this page and all gifts are tax-exempt. Thanks.
Remember, all you need to do is go to the Playlist 201-Present and click Episode #244 to hear the great memories from that important year. Give a listen!!
What a fun title for my new show, TOP OF THE POPS AND TRACKS BETWEEN THE CRACKS. On this episode we’re going to be hearing songs that were in the charts on Christian radio back in the day as well as some of those that didn’t quite make it that far but still have something to say that may have not been heard by the masses. Nothing will be lost on this episode!
You’ll hear songs from Bryan Duncan, Steve Camp and the late Keith Green. Two Kims…Kim Boyce, Kim Hill as well as Twila Paris. Solid Rock Records alumni Daniel Amos, Mark Heard and Larry Norman a classic from Phil Keaggy. There should be something for everyone!
Be sure “like” the FULL CIRCLE JESUS MUSIC page on FACEBOOK and tell your friends about the show. As always, I am so grateful for your interest and your support for this radio ministry. Send a note and let me know the songs you’d like to hear and ideas for an upcoming episode at email@example.com
The finishing touches were added to the long awaited Randy Stonehill show, Episode #242 and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Randy really had a lot of things to say that will help you recall those early days of Jesus Music! It was a lot of fun interviewing and producing this episode with some help from our friends, who pray for and financially underwrite the show. As you know, Randy is one funny guy as he tells how he and the late Keith Green wrote UNTIL YOUR LOVE BROKE THROUGH.
Get ready to rock as Randy tries his hand at the “rock classic” CROSSROADS and tells how he came up with the song PICTURE POSTCARD PERFECT DAY. So, give a listen and tell your friends to download. Go to www.fullcirclejesusmusic.com. Find Playlist 201-Present and the new show is at the top of the list.

Happy Thanksgiving 2018! I hope you’ve enjoyed the time with friends and family and so for a special blessing, here’s Episode #239. It’s part two of a look back at the shift in Jesus music in 1978…that saw the emergence of more and more Christian radio stations giving this new music a try on their drive times in the morning and afternoon while still playing their syndicated preaching and teaching programs during the rest of the day.
You’ll hear radio friendly songs from Benny Hester, DeGarmo and Key, Farrell and Farrell, Sweet Comfort Band, Andrus Blackwood & Company and many others.

You’ll hear the songs that have encouraged Robert along his journey from groups like Parable, Pat Terry Group, The Call and Paul Clark, Phil Keaggy and Randy Stonehill…a great mix of inspiration that will encourage you as well

I’m entitling this show “From The Other Side of the Stage” because I am highlighting an artist who doesn’t normally get the spotlight but has made a significant mark on the musical genre as a whole. On this episode I’ll be talking with a man who has played so many various roles within the music world. Drummer / percussionist Alex Macdougall, who was a member of numerous early Jesus music groups in the 70’s as well as a studio musician for literally hundreds of albums during that time and well into the following 3 decades.
You’ll hear early Jesus music from The Way, Bob Bennett, Daniel Amos, Mark Heard and much more as I have a candid discussion with Alex and explore those remarkable artists and recordings. I think you will really enjoying see the stage from “the other side”. Be sure and open Playlist 201 – Present, click on Episode #235 and enjoy.
Would you prayerfully consider joining with the listeners of Full Circle who are “all in” and send in monthly support for the expenses of the show. Go to the DONATE button at the top right of this page and do what you are willing to do, monthly or one time. I’m looking to add more support for the show in this next season to be able to do what God has called us to do. Thanks.
