I’ll never forget when I was first exposed to Jesus Music back in the ’70s when my cousin gave me a cassette of Love Song.  I listened to it over and over.  I soon fell in love with 2nd Chapter, Barry McGuire, Phil Keaggy, Lamb, and all of the Maranatha!, Myrrh, Word, and Sparrow recordings.

There is a distinct difference in the message and tone of those days.  They weren’t afraid of the name “Jesus” in their lyrics and the music was so much more of a cheerful tone.

On this episode will be checking out some ROAD tunes. By that I mean songs that deal with the topic of walking on the narrow road with Jesus that leads to life.

We’ll be hearing from many of the artist who favored a country Jesus music style such as early Daniel Amos, Bruce Carroll, Ed Raetzloff, and Mark Heard. You’ll also get a taste of some better known artists like Larry Norman and Keith Green.

I’ve received so many, many emails from folks like you tell me “Jerry, we love the show”  “God bless you…keep up the good work”  

Those letters are encouraging to say the least.  Only one thing that can make this happen though.  God using folks like you to partner with me.  I never have liked talking about finances…but real facts are that costs are incurred…so maybe you are someone God wants to use to support this ministry…and whether one time or often, a small gift or large…it all matters…really it does!

Here in Nashville on a unseasonably warmer evening, a giant guitar made its way from the top of the pole to the bottom…and welcomed in the new year of 2011!  I missed that particular event but had gathered with a number of folks to pray/prophecy in the new year at Belmont Church downtown…and the presence of our Lord was there in an unusual way releasing hope and new vision for this new beginning!

Hi Everybody!  It’s time for a new season for us all.  A year that we will never forget has come to an end.

Here in Nashville, we’ll not forget the “flood” of the century in early May when hundreds of homes were made uninhabited by the deluge. The historic Opryland Hotel and the Grand Old Opry were closed due to the high waters and have just reopened.

Then there was the lost of good friends like my mentor Tom Dooley and Jesus music pioneers Danny Taylor, Tom Howard, Kevin Thomson from the Sweet Comfort Band and Dana Key from the DeGarmo and Key band.  Our loss…heaven’s gain.

What will the New Year bring to us?  No-one can be sure, of course…but we can predict some things with accuracy. Here are 5 predictions for the new year.  Check em’ out and I invite you to come back to this list during 2011 and see if any of these predictions are in error.  Here we go:

1. The Bible will still have the answers.
2. Prayer will still work.
3. God will still pour out blessings upon His people.
4. Jesus will still love you.
5. Jesus will still save the lost.

Hold fast to the Lord in 2011…it’s gonna be quite a ride!

Hi Everybody…here’s another unbelievable milestone!  When we started the show…we had two years of underwriting from our friends at Global Advance.  Since then, we’ve believed with many of you that God would provide for FULL CIRCLE through the listening audience.  I am so thankful He has brought us this far…thanks to each of you who’ve helped along the way…with either large or small financial gifts…one time or monthly.  We couldn’t have done it without you being directed by the Lord to help out.

My heart is sad, yet I rejoice that my friend is in the presence of His Master and King…and because there will be a glorious resurrection…death has no sting.

I loved Tom Dooley…he was my connection and helped encourage me to put FULL CIRCLE JESUS MUSIC on the air.  He’s always been my friend and encourager…and last night He was joyously received into his Father’s arms!!

Tom had a tumor on his brain was being treated with radiation and chemotherapy.

Tom was the founder of MasterMedia Ministries and the former morning man for the former KVTT in Dallas.  His radio show, THE JOURNEY with Tom Dooley was a 2-hr. daily Christian music/talk radio program and a 3-hr. weekend show heard on over 200 stations.  It was a unique broadcast combining the worlds of contemporary Christian music and literature with commentary from Tom. The focus of the ministry was that of discipleship and encouragement.

Tom was a giant of a man in the Spirit, a prophet and innovator and a leader you just wanted to be around.

We first met when both of us were in Virginia Beach working for the Christian Broadcasting station in Tidewater.

I’ll miss him…but we’ll be together again soon.
